Food I've only been for brunch, but everything was very light and fresh. Then again, I didn't order anything from their "bacon menu." The menu was simple, nothing too fancy...although I am curious about their Irish Breakfast with black pudding. I had a farmer's market frittata with a side of chicken sausage. This place prides itself on fresh ingredients and I'd say they are very successful. I’ll definitely be back for their happy hour called “Fig at Five” where their cheese & charcuterie plates are each $5.
Bartender/Staff I had Richard and he was very accommodating. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and approachable. I have to get to know them better to see if they deserve the full 10 rating...but I will definitely be back there!
Attitude The bar here just makes sense. In addition to the regular meal menu, they also have a fun "bar menu" that lists a selection of wines, cheese and charcuterie that's made to order. There's also an extra counter behind the bar to simulate an eat at the bar experience. These people understand bar eaters...
Scene Again, I was only there for Sunday brunch and it was all older people, families, etc. There was no one else at the bar, despite the Chargers game on TV. I'm sure everyone was hanging out at a sports bar. I'd give the scene a lower rating, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that their evenings are livelier. I'll review again after I check out the happy hour scene.
Get Lucky Factor I'm talking khakis and sweaters around the neck type people. But again...I'll reassess after I revisit on an evening.
