| Food | Your standard American bar and grill type food with burgers, salads, wings, but done very well. I had some hand rolled taquitos, which were delicious - I normally don't eat these because they look all deep fried and not appetizing, but these were delicious with slow-roasted brisket and a side of fresh guacamole. The turkey burger was standard, but the roasted chicken and grilled asparagus were perfect. |
| Bartender/Staff | I've only been here for lunch and met Lou, who is amazing. As Kelly said, he used to own the original Father's Office in Santa Monica and is a real bar veteran in this town. He's got a very cool new project coming up involving a whole new way of serving wine at the bar and I have a feeling that this is going to be an eat at the bar favorite. Definitely stop in to Truxton's for lunch Mon-Fri while Lou's still around. You'll learn a lot about local establishments. |
| Attitude | Hard to say, since I was there at lunch, but it seems very laid back and classic. When you walk in, it feels like an upscale Friday's - very all-American and approachable. I can see why it's a local favorite. |
| Scene | Mostly locals. Good place for families. Good place to stop by for a quick bite at the bar to or from LAX Airport. |
| Get Lucky Factor | Not so much, but you never know. I haven't been here at night yet...Anyone frequent at night have any input on this? |

Lunches are especially fun with Lou the bartender - he used to own My Father's Office before the present owners. His witty repartee will keep you amused while you fill your stomach with yum.
And in the evening, the bar fills with friendly locals who are a breath of fresh air from all the La La Land attitude you get in most parts of town.
